Konjac Sponge is created in Japan using the roots of the konyakku plant, a food staple for more than 1,500 years in Asian cultures. The vegetable fibers are purified and spun into a puff that is incredibly water-retentive. When used, there is a water barrier between sponge and skin which means it cleanses without scratching or irritating. The sponge is ideal for daily use, especially for those with sensitive and acne-prone skin. How to Use: For the first use, soak the sponge in warm water for 10-15 minutes until it puffs up and rehydrates. It will expand about 50% and be soft and squishy like sponge cake. Charcoal Infusion: Charcoal helps to draw out daily impurities. When you exfoliate with the sponge, the infused charcoal will help gently bring up the build up of dirt and toxins from your pores. Daily use: Soak briefly in warm water to rehydrate. To exfoliate, wet the sponge and make a small lather with your ONYX charcoal facial bar. You can also use the sponge alone without any cleanser. Rub in circular motions to remove dirt from the pores without scratching the skin. Your face will love it! Rinse out completely, then press between palms to remove excess water from sponge and hang to dry. After 3 months: Sanitize the sponge or replace. If you see mold or bacteria growth, do not use the sponge. Some users have boiled it in water to sterilize it, or saturated it in water and microwaved for 20 seconds to sterilize. If you continue to squeeze and hang it to fully dry between uses, it could last for up to 6 months. If it smells funny, becomes discolored, or looks off, throw it away and do not continue using. It is a natural product and can grow mold or bacteria if not properly handled. Storage: After each use, rinse out the sponge and gently press between palms to remove excess water. Hang up to dry between uses, with the included string hanger. Never wring out the sponge as this might damage or alter its shape. The Konjac (Kon-Yak) sponge is made from the Konjac root, a porous vegetable that grows native to Asia.  The Konjac plant is naturally alkaline, helping to balance the pH of our skin.  A Konjac Cleansing Sponge is an all-natural, gentle, cleansing exfoliator.  

Bamboo Charcoal Konjac: Enriched with bamboo charcoal which helps to unclog and tighten the pores and fights acne-causing bacteria. Bamboo Charcoal Konjac may be used on any skin type but is best used on combination or oil prone skin.

How to Use: Start by soaking your Konjac sponge in warm water, press several times to expel excess water before use. Massage gently in upward motions on the face and body. Our Konjac Sponges may be used daily with your fav cleansing product, using less product than usual as the sponge makes your product go further! After use, rinse well and lightly squeeze in between both hands to remove excess water. For longevity, store clean sponge in the fridge to keep fresh and cool. Sponge may also be hung to air dry.

*Do not allow to stand in pooled water. 100% natural vegetable product, can be safely composted! Replace sponge once damaged or worn, approximately every 3-6 months.

    I love washing my face with this with the cleanser of my choice. It’s so soft! And I love that when it’s done I can throw it in my garden as it’s compostable.
